Had a short stay in The Lake District over the weekend. We looked for somewhere to eat before travelling back home. I’m so glad we chose Bengal Rose. It was easy to book a table over the phone. They have a really extensive menu with lots of options. The waiters were very polite and helpful. The food we ordered was excellent. Every dish was delicious. It was very well cooked. We even had a chat with the owner, who was very nice and accommodating. Overall it was a very nice experience. Excellent food and excellent service. I will definitely revisit next time I’m in the Lake District.

We came to the Lake District to celebrate our wedding anniversary and stumbled across the Bengal Rose. At Bengal Rose, the service was as exceptional as the food. They ensured that every detail of your dining experience is taken care of, creating a warm, comfortable atmosphere from start to finish. As for the food, it’s nothing short of outstanding.

Best Indian I have ever had. Came with my friends tonight & it was 10/10. Service was immaculate, so polite and very friendly. I even asked for a dish that wasn’t on their menu and they made it for me. Food was piping hot and extremely nice. Would 100% recommend :) will definitely be coming again!

This really is the best Indian food in the South Lakes District. Truly outstanding! Also, I've Coeliac and so gluten free is essential. They are very understanding and appear to take great care. I’ve eaten here three times and have not had a problem.

Dined here on a busy Saturday night. After a reasonable wait, we were seated at a window table and promptly served a free appetizer. After ordering, our food arrived quickly and was sizzling hot. We're on our third week in the UK and without a doubt, this is one of the best meal and service experiences so far. Delisheous food and friendly interaction with staff was outstanding.

We found ourselves here by accident after getting to Ulverston without having booked anywhere for dinner. This was the best Indian cuisine we had eaten in a long time. The staff were friendly and accommodating and helped us with the vast menu options and the food was outstanding. 5 stars, we will be back again

The best Indian restaurant in the Lake District! Excellent service from the staff the moment you step in. They are knowledgeable about the menu and give great recommendations. It’s a shame I don’t live closer otherwise I’d be here every week.

Absolutely fantastic experience here! My mum and I love coming here and the staff were really accommodating even though we booked very last minute! They are warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. They took the time to listen to our preferences and gave spot-on recommendations that were absolutely delicious—bursting with authentic flavor, perfectly balanced spices, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, and the service is attentive without being intrusive. A real gem—highly recommended and well-deserving of five stars!
